Law firm donates equipment to Rainbows ::
(11 28, 2005)
Thanks to generous support of the local law firm, Prochaska, Giroux & Howell, children at Rainbows United Ritchie Family Center can now benefit from a new and effective therapy known as "partial weight bearing gait training." Prochaska, Giroux & Howell purchased a Pediatric Lite Gait trainer, the accompanying treadmill, and provided funding for training Rainbows' specialists to use the new equipment.
Gait training allows children to put a portion of their weight on their feet while a therapist guides their legs through the motion of walking. While doing this, their lower body strength and coordination improves, and children may in turn begin to support themselves!
"Our firm is pleased to provide this equipment to the young children of Rainbows," says owner Brad Prochaska. "All the research shows, and our experience with families proves, that in order for children with disabilities to maximize their future potential, they need as much help as they can get, as early as possible."
The law firm also says they are happy to have the opportunity to be a small part of what the community does to support the young children of Rainbows.
The law firm of Prochaska, Giroux & Howell (www.pcghlaw.com) specializes in personal injury law, with a concentration in financially supporting children injured at birth or born with special needs and assisting families in planning for their child's future care. The firm is located at 7701 E. Kellogg, Suite 415, in Wichita.
